On August 5th, 2019, The Federal Housing Authority will begin enforcing the proper formatting of delivered reports to the EAD ruleset and the inclusion of a self-signed EAD digital certificate.
Though you may have been delivering EAD reports for a while, these requirements have been optional until now. While this may sound intimidating, don’t worry. Appraise-It Classic will check and take care of everything for you.
Though the rules for FHA’s EAD are very similar to UAD, when doing a report for EAD delivery, make sure you select the FHA ruleset in the validator instead of UCDP to ensure it is checking your report properly.
When you are ready to generate your MISMO XML for delivery to FHA, using your EAD certificate is very simple. Go to the Orders menu and click on Create MISMO.
If you are going to be delivering this report to FHA using the EAD format, select FHA from the menu and click Next.
Now, continue generating your XML as you normally would. Your final validation will also be done using the EAD ruleset if you selected FHA when starting the XML creation process.
Your EAD digital certificate will automatically be generated for you if it does not already exist.
If you wish to manage or view your EAD certificate, just go to Edit and then Preferences. Then, click Certificates under the Registration section. So...that’s it!
