How do I get started with Appraise-It Pro?

Getting started with Appraise-It Pro is quick and easy. Plus, you can take comfort in knowing that Appraise-It Pro and Appraise-It Classic can co-exist on the same computer system. This will allow you to ease into Appraise-It Pro at your own pace.

1. Downloading

Once you are notified by email that your account is ready for Appraise-It Pro, follow the download link in the email and save the install file to a location on your computer where you can easily find it. We recommend your download folder or your desktop. You can also visit your downloads page by going to


2. Installing

Once the download is complete, double-click on the installer to begin the install process. Follow the prompts and click Next like you would any program install.

When complete, an Appraise-It Pro program icon will be put onto your desktop and in the Start menu.

3. First Time Run

Double-click on the icon to run the program for the first time and continue setting up Appraise-It Pro.

When Appraise-It Pro runs for the first time, it will automatically convert your databases, settings, user profiles and responses. This can take from a few seconds to several minutes. It really just depends on how much data there is to be converted.

4. Registering Appraise-It Pro

Once Appraise-It Pro launches, you will be prompted to register.

4a. Existing Appraise-It Account

If you already have an Appraise-It Account because an SFREP rep has created one for you, you have previously used Appraise-It Pro, or because you have been using the Inspect-a-Lot mobile app, click the register button and enter your email address and password.

Next, select your company from the list (in most cases there will only be one listed) and click Next. Don’t worry about the Add Customer ID button unless you are directed to use it by sale or tech support.

Appraise-It Pro will now be registered. When it is finished, click Close.

4b. Creating an Appraise-It Account

If you are coming from Appraise-It Classic and know your older style customer ID number and password, click the Upgrade Account button. This will create an Appraise-It account that you will use for various things, including registration, from now on.

You will be prompted for your customer ID and password. Note that this may already be filled in for you if you are installing on a computer with Appraise-It Classic already on it. When you are done, click Next.

Select the name of the person who will be using this computer from the list and then click next. This will usually be you unless you are setting up a computer for someone else. If you are a one person shop, only your name will be listed.

Now we need to collect a few more bits of information for your account. Enter your email address and choose a password. You will also need to set up a challenge phrase and response for use if you forget your password. Use the pulldown to select a question, then enter the response to the question below. When done, click Next.

You will receive a confirmation that your account was created. Click Next. The license will now be downloaded...and now you are finished. Just click Close.
