How do I remove Appraise-It from Norton 360's quarantine?

If your Norton 360 security software has misidentified Appraise-It as a threat and quarantined it, follow the steps below to restore Appraise-It to its original state.

Version 6.0

1. Start Norton.  If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

2. In the Norton main window, double-click Security,  and then click History.

3. In the Secuirty History window, in the Quarantine view, select the item that you want to restore.

4. In the Details pane, click Options.

5. In the Threat Detected window, do one of the following:

  • Click Restore & exclude this file.

This option returns the selected quarantine item to its original location without repairing it and excludes the item from being detected in future scans.

  • Click Restore.

This option returns the selected quarantine item to its original location without repairing it.  This option is available only for manually quarantined items.

6. In the Quarantine Restore window, click Yes.

7. In the Browse for Folder dialog, select the folder or drive where you want to restore the file and then click OK.

8. Click Close.

Version 5.0
1. Open Norton 360.
2. Click Tasks.
3. Click View Security History.
4. Select TRA.EXE in the history display, then click Options on the right.
5. In the Threat Detected dialog, click Restore This File.
6. In the Quarantine Restore window, click Yes
7. Click Close.

You should now be able to access Appraise-It normally.

Version 4.0
1. Open Norton 360.
2. Click Tasks.
3. Click View Security History.
4. Select TRA.EXE in the history display, then click Options on the right.
5. In the Threat Detected dialog, click Restore This File.
6. In the Quarantine Restore window, click Yes
7. Click Close.

You should now be able to access Appraise-It normally.

Version 3.0
1. Open Norton 360.
2. Click Tasks.
3. Click View Security History.
4. Select TRA.EXE in the history display, then click More Details.
5. In the Details dialog, under Actions, click Restore & Exclude.
6. In the Quarantine Restore window, click Yes
7. Click Close.

You should now be able to access Appraise-It normally.

Version 2.0
1. Open Norton 360.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Virus & Spyware Protection.
4. Go to the Quarantine tab, then select TRA.EXE in the history display.
5. Click Restore.
6. Check the Exclude selected non-viral threats from future scans box, then click Yes.
7. Click Close.

You should now be able to access Appraise-It normally.
