How do I copy a PDF into my report?

It is possible to copy pages from a PDF as images into your Fax/Scan addenda. Note that in default skeletons, there are only 5 Fax/Scan addenda; you can also use General Map addenda, or restructure a custom skeleton to include up to 10 additional Fax/Scan pages.

Please note: The following instructions are guidelines; the process may differ slightly if you are using a different PDF reader program. Examples are given for Adobe Reader 10.1 and Foxit Reader 4.3.

1. Open your PDF file in your PDF reader of choice.
2. Find a "Snapshot Tool."

  • In Adobe Reader 10.1, it can be found under EditTake A Snapshot.
  • In Foxit Reader 4.3, it can be found under ToolsSnapshot, or you can click the camera icon on the toolbar.

3. With the Snapshot Tool active, click on the page you wish to copy. The page will highlight and/or flicker, and you should receive a message stating the selection has been copied.
4. Open the first unused Fax Scan addendum in Appraise-It and double-click in the large blue image area on the page.
5. When the Scanlink utility opens, click Paste From Clipboard.
6. A thumbnail of the page you copied will appear on the right. Click OK.
7. The full page will appear in the Fax/Scan addendum.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for each page you wish to copy into your report.
