Why am I receiving an Oops! error message?

Appraise-It may generate an "Oops!" error if it detects a problem during startup. Some variations include:

"OLE error 80131040, ClassID: {Fa3f5d5c-a7f7-4edf-afed-287532b63815].
Oops! It would appear that something went wrong while trying to register your product."

"Class not registered, Class ID: {Fa3f5d5c-a7f7-4edf-afed-287532b63815].
Oops! It would appear that something went wrong while trying to register your product."

There are several possible causes for this error; follow the steps below to resolve it. After each step, try to open Appraise-It again.

1. Ensure your computer's date and time are set correctly by double-clicking on the system clock on the taskbar (typically in the lower right-hand corner of your screen).
2. Open Appraise-It in demo mode and go to HelpAbout. Compare the installed version (at the top) to the licensed version (at the bottom, in Products). If the licensed version number is lower than the installed version number, contact Technical Support or Sales.
3. Download and run this small utility, which unregisters and re-registers some of Appraise-It's library files in Windows.
4. Uninstall and reinstall Appraise-It from your Windows Control Panel.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact Technical Support for further assistance.
